- As a safety intern at Abilene Boots I had two major projects. My first project involved evaluating the emergency preparedness program in place at Abilene and making improvements. I also took an inventory of emergency exits and equipment. While working on my first project I conducted interviews with employees to assess how well the training they received had prepared them for an emergency situation. I used their answers to justify my conclusions about the adequacy of the program. My second project involved evaluating the hearing conservation program. I compared the contents of the plan to OSHA requirements and interviewed employees regarding their knowledge of hearing conservation. To complete the project I used OSHA guidelines to create a hearing conservation training and presented to all employees.
