I have received a strong and well-rounded education in neuroscience, psychology, and statistics, having both a B.A. and an M.S. in psychology with specialties in neuroscience. I have worked extensively both with human and animal models. I have had in-depth, first-hand experience with research techniques, SPSS, data entry, and research on topics such as ADHD, anxiety, and other neuroscience/psychology research areas. I possess strong leadership skills and a strong work ethic. I am able to work and communicate efficiently in group settings, but am also able to confidently work on my own. I am very flexible within the work setting and can change work strategies on the dime, if need be. I am a very critical and detailed thinker and I have exceptional visual perception and observation skills. I am a fast learner and can adapt to new environments quickly.

This was a teaching assistant job at the Reserve School. I was in the middle school room for students with a cognitive impairments as well as some behavioral/social difficulties. STP is an intensive treatment program for children with a primary diagnosis of attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with comorbidities including Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Asperger's Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and various learning disabilities. A token economy system was implemented in the context off a summer day camp.
My responsibilities included:

  • Implementing clinical skills to ensure that children receive appropriate behavioral treatment targeting social and sports skills acquisition, successful classroom behaviors and problem solving strategies
  • Collecting and analyzing data that was collected daily – such as creating correlation graphs, trend lines, etc.
  • Using that data to write individual treatment programs and clinical summary reports at the end of the program
  • Collecting additional data for other researchers, such as the impact of mindfulness on the children and their behaviors
