Work History

Assistant Director

Eisenhauer Gallery
Edgartown, MA
06.2023 - Current
  • Placed $340,000 worth of contemporary art in my two consecutive summers working at Eisenhauer Gallery on Martha's Vineyard, MA.
  • Developed strong connections with clients, art advisors, and designers in order to advise and assist them in their acquisitions, with the end goal of developing market-conscious and personalized collections.
  • Often negotiated on behalf of the gallery to meet a price point, which considered factors such as the age of the artwork, the stage of the artist's career, and its provenance.
  • Created invoices and tracked the movement of all wire transfers to the gallery.
  • Managed artist-gallery relations, including but not limited to writing artist contracts, coordinating and conceptualizing group and solo shows via phone, email, and in-person meetings, receiving and sending shipments, and facilitating payments.
  • Handled artwork and facilitated exhibition installations.
  • Oversaw administrative features of the gallery, such as managing our client and contact databases through Constant Contact and Google Contacts, utilizing Art Cloud as an inventory and sales tracking program, and sending weekly newsletters.
  • Wrote press releases for each exhibition, and co-ordinated extensively with local news publications on show coverage.

Gallery Assistant

Winter Street Gallery
Paris, France
10.2024 - 10.2024
  • Assisted an emerging contemporary gallery with an offsite duo exhibition opening during Paris Art Week 2024.
  • Assisted with writing a press release and interviewing both artists in anticipation of the show to gain a broader understanding of their aesthetic and conceptual goals.
  • Facilitated the delivery of artwork to the exhibition space and assisted the head curator with the installation process.
  • Translated the exhibition's conceptual underpinnings and narratives to collectors, advisors, and editors from publications such as Vanity Fair and Artnet during a VIP preview and public show opening.
  • Coordinated with French and American press, with the goal of international coverage of the exhibition.
  • Proliferated individualized messages, accompanied by previews, to Winter Street Gallery's collector base.
  • Personally assisted in the placement of two artworks to the collection of Jonathan Travis.

Founder and Writer

Gallery Talk
Berlin/New York
10.2023 - Current
  • Founded an independent column while living in Berlin, Germany for my art historical essays and analyses, as well as exhibition reviews. Topics range from the lost avant-garde, radical scenes from ex-Soviet bloc states under post-war Communism to repatriation of artwork and art law today after Nazi theft.
  • Began an interview series with gallerists, curators, and artists, most notably writing about an interview I conducted with Jean Michel Basquiat's assistant from 1982-1983.

  • Installed over 40 works of art in an independent exhibition space.
  • Wrote a press release, coordinated with local news syndicates, developed marketing strategies, and designed posters and fliers, with the end goal of exposure and attendance at the opening.
  • Facilitated the attendance of over 400 people at the opening.
