I have been a student athlete pretty much my entire life. I fell in love with softball at a very young age and grew up learning from a coach and a uncle as well, Jeff Harger, who is a current assistant head coach at Texas A&M University. I started playing the sport at the age of 5 and currently concluding my fourth year at Texas A&M University as a catcher. I have learned a lot when it comes to community engagement, leadership, team engagement, competitiveness. in addition, being a catcher I have learned a lot of personal traits like, leadership, grit, perseverance, trust, and believing in my teammates.
I played on a travel organization, Cen Cal Dirtdogs, with a hall of fame head coach, Sara Pickering, and previous coaches who have impacted me as a player and molded me as a strong individual, Russ Hefley, Jeff Harger, Ralph Herrera. I have worked as a athlete with these coaches throughout my entire softball career before college.
As a student athlete at Texas A&M I have engaged in a lot of community service working with the AggieCan food drive, Aggieland humane Society helping take care of dogs, working multiple softball camps, and helping the youth grow as individuals engaging in a travel softball organization during the summer.
What I see in my future is helping the youth and potentially being a role model for athletes to not only come to me to help with their goals and dreams but to help with the mental side of being a student athlete. I believe I would be a great fit for a GA or some sort of coaching position in a softball organization because i feel I could reason and understand with the student athletes and help them through their journey.
