Summary

As a performing arts professional and educator with two decades of experience, I am passionate about enriching the American arts ecosystem. A veteran teacher at the secondary and university levels, I teach diverse subjects, with an emphasis on acting. I have studied, taught, and served as a guest director at some of the world's premier training institutions for stage and screen performance.

I am most importantly a Citizen Artist. I believe that our deepest human need is to see and be seen. I make work and promote classroom and rehearsal-room cultures in which all of us thrive and reach our greatest potential.

Additional Information

I believe that my training as a theater director substantially enhances my skill as an educator. Directors necessarily have expertise in a range of disciplinesdesign, acting, playwriting, dramaturgy, operations of large- and small-scale companies. I am passionately curious about these subjects. But my skill as a facilitator provides the most overlap. I am experienced and trained in creating learning journeys for diverse artists that culminate in revelatory events. For directing, it's opening night. For teaching, it's often a final exam or end-of-semester performance. Whether I am designing a rehearsal process or creating a curriculum, my work invites artists on adventures of discovery, with the goal of promoting personal revelation and growth.
