Prospective Medical School Applicant with a wide array of both Medical, Professional, and volunteer experiences. The variety of carrier fields and skills I have accumulated has bolstered my work ethic and social skills. From varsity sports in High School to leadership and training positions at current jobs and organizations, I have a high aptitude for leadership and team communication. Through a variety of shadowing experiences such as; Emergency Medicine, oncology, family medicine, first responders, and even veterinary medicine, I have observed and internalized how to appropriately conduct myself in a Health Care environment regardless of pace or acuity. Various volunteer opportunities both local and abroad have provided me with experience with others of different life circumstances, cultures, and mental and physical abilities. As someone who has observed the health care process from start to finish I offer unique perspectives and appreciation to any team or organization.

Shadowing Experiences.

  • Dr. Paul Sanner, MD - Family medicine Doctor in Malakoff, TX. As a physician in a rural, low-economic status area of East Texas, Dr. Sanner exhibited how to be an exceptional doctor when faced with limited resources, both for patients and physicians.
  • Dr. Tyson Barnes, MD - Family Medicine Doctor in Terrell, TX. Dr. Barnes has served the community of Terrell for over 40 years and has created a extensive legacy through exceptional service of multiple generations of patients.
  • Various Physicians of Guatemala - Through Maximo Nivel Volunteer Abroad, I was able to experience how medicine is practiced in Latin America. These physicians serve extensive roles both as physicians and advocates for the underserved communities of Antigua and surrounding areas.
  • Dr. Terry R. Jenkins - Oncologist and hematologist in Bryan, TX. As a long time physician for the Bryan-College Station area and affiliate with St. Joseph's Regional Hospital, Dr. Jenkins excels in multiple specializes and treatments of various chronic and life threatening diseases.
  • Dr. Ryan Hall - Transplant surgeon in Austin, TX. Specializing in liver, pancreas, and bile duct surgeries along with robot-assisted operations, Dr. Hall offered invaluable insight into the future of medical operations.
  • Dr. Mark Gamber, DO - Emergency Medicine doctor in Plano, TX. As a Doctor, EMS Medical Director, and public speaker, Dr. Gamber shows how being a medical professional reaches far beyond your own hospital, and how to balance and manage various professional pursuits and a family life simultaneously.
  • Plano Fire Department - First responders. Following the paramedics of PFD, provided incredible insight into the first steps of medical care. From offering help to ailments of all kinds to patients from vastly different backgrounds, PFD highlighted the most prevalent health risks and health determinants in the US.

Volunteer Experience

  • Courtney Cares - Equine-Assisted Activities & Therapies. As a volunteer with courtney cares, I assisted in providing emotionally enriching and mentally/physically challenging activities or children of varying mental and physical disabilities. Under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist and equine professionals, children were taught various skills relating to both horsemanship and independence. As a volunteer I worked closely with both riders and caretakers to ensure the best possible experience, while also monitoring the horses and volunteers under my supervision.
  • Habitat for Humanity - Remodeling and construction of housing in Bryan, TX. Habitat for humanity aids in providing free housing and/or remodeling for low-economic and underserved areas. As a volunteer I aided in the entire process of remodeling from foundation to roof.
  • Biomedical Sciences Association - Member. As a member I was connected to volunteer with various other organizations including: Health for All, the ECHO symposium, and various local opportunities directly serving the people of Bryan-College Station.
  • Global Health Outreach - Member and Director of Fundraising. GHO assisted both locally and abroad including a trip to medical service trip Antigua, Guatemala where, as a volunteer, I aided physicians providing free health care by taking vitals and obtaining an HPI and medical history.
