Correctional Officer Responsibilities

Transport residents to other institutions, courtrooms, hospitals and work sites. Monitor resident's conduct. Drive prison grounds to prohibit escape or unauthorized entry. Leverage training when using weapons, handcuffs and physical force for maintaining order.  Search residents and cells for contraband and unauthorized items. Monitor resident's conduct in alignment with established policies and regulations. Supervise residents during day-to-day activities. Record information such as charges and incidents of resident's disturbances. Count to ensure that each resident was present. Respond to code crisis calls to assist in preventing escapes, fights and violations of facility rules., Participate in required job training.  Monitor inmate activities.
