Summary
After a twenty-year career, teaching high school English and Social Studies, I transitioned in several ways: moving from Tacoma to a small island northwest of Seattle; beginning a part-time job as a baker at a beloved artisanal bakery; and giving my writing drive full rein. My teaching background is constantly with me, however, in terms of my desire always to improve my community, no matter its size, and my ability to work with people from all walks of life.
