Supported two of the firms six criminal attorneys handling primarily major felony caseloads on a full-time basis. Some of my regular job responsibilities include:

- Calendaring all hearing dates and deadlines as doxpop, Odyssey/ECF notices are received with electronic email notice to clients of all new dates.

- Following up with attorneys on all motion or plea deadlines to ensure sure none are inadvertently missed.

- Scheduling of taped statements/depositions, making sure funds are obtained to pay for court reporter services no later than one week prior to a deposition date and issuing subpoenas for service as needed.

- Preparing and electronic filing various pleadings, notices and proposed orders with courts including but not limited to: continuances, discovery requests, appearances, notice of depositions/taped statements, specialized driving privilege requests and expungement pleadings.

- Proofreading, formatting and drafting of appellate pleadings.

- Fielding client phone calls/emails.

- Communicating with various other individuals within the legal field including but not limited to: expert witnesses, court reporters, law enforcement, prosecutors, other attorneys, court staff and judges.

- Reaching out to prior counsel and/or prosecutors to obtain clients discovery files.

- Organizing files within the firm case management system to maintain uniformity and allow for a more efficient ease of access.

Originally hired for an hourly part time position with full time hours that later transitioned into a full time salary position with benefits. Other roles I fill within the office include: Check Deception Coordinator, Ordinance Violation Coordinator, Traffic Infraction Deferral Coordinator, and Assistant/Backup Pre-Trial Diversion Coordinator. A few of my responsibilities include:

- Maintaining an open line of communication with deputy prosecuting attorneys, court staff, law enforcement agencies, jail staff, defense attorneys, and judges.

- Assist defendant's with signing up for various deferral or diversion programs as well as answer any in person or phone calls regarding the matter. Attend court hearings as scheduled to assist deputy prosecutor's with these matters.

- Draft charging information and initial filings for attorney review on felony and misdemeanor cases.

- Issue subpoenas for sentencing, suppression, bench trial, and/or jury trial pleadings.

- Conduct jury research upon request.

- Prepare and provide discovery packets to defense counsel.

- Request medical records as needed and follow-up with medical facilities to assure records are timely obtained.

- Handle the calendaring and filing of pleadings on expungement, specialized driving privilege, and BMV fee waiver matters.
