Utilize Swan-Ganz catheters to assess cardiac function, monitor hemodynamics, and guide management of complex post-operative cardiothoracic patients.
Assist physicians with management of external ventricular drains (EVDs); monitor intracranial pressure (ICP), neurologic status, and trends to support timely intervention.
Monitor and manage arterial lines, central venous lines, and IABF/IAFOW systems while maintaining accurate assessment of hemodynamic and neurologic status.
Monitor hemodynamic parameters and titrate intravascular pressures according to patient condition and response.
Provide comprehensive critical care during interfacility transportation of high-acuity and medically complex patients.
Collaborate with physicians, EMTs, nurses, respiratory therapists, perfusionists, and sending and receiving facilities to coordinate safe and efficient patient transfers.
Manage ventilators, IV drips, IV pressors, IV pumps, and ZOLL monitor during transportation.
Apply advanced critical thinking, clinical judgment, and time-management skills to manage changes in patient condition and emergent situations during transport.
Conduct comprehensive pre-shift inspections of ambulance equipment, medications, and critical care supplies to ensure readiness for patient transport.
Safely manage patients on ECMO and LVAD with collaboration of the perfusionist.
