My name is Gwendylan June Ward. I go by Gwen, or Gwenny for short. I was born in a small town in California called San Luis Obisbo, moved to Oregon for some time, back to California and then to Cedar City Utah. I really enjoy anything outdoors, hugs, and watching movies. I can’t even tell you how excited I am to be living in St. George where I can be outdoors 90% of the time! I am now a freshman in my second semester at Utah Tech. My senior year of high school and these last few semesters here at Utah Tech have been filled with so many new opportunities for me. I was the Student Body Secretary in high school, and I love everything about my job. Through this, over the summer, I was lucky enough to be able to go to the Trailblazer Leadership Camp. As soon as we arrived at the Utah Tech campus, I knew this school was just right for me. From the beautiful campus to all of the amazing people that I met, I just absolutely fell in love with the school. I loved being a part of my student government family, and I just know that I would love to be a part pf UTSA. I think being part of the UTSA team would be a perfect fit for me because of my ability to connect with all different types of people. I love to have fun and I always try to have the best attitude I can. I am driven by love. My love for my family, love for school, my love for people, and my love to help others. In my family life, I am the second child of 5. I love my role as a sister. I have always been the peacemaker in my home. I believe this has prepared me to interact with people outside of my home. Showing love for my school for me, has been to show up to every school game, activity, performance there is, as long as I was in town. I love showing support for the school that has helped me become who I am today. Also in school, I have been able to be a part of many things, by being active in high school and college activities as well as being aware of who may need to be included. I was on a variety of sports teams, such as soccer and swimming. I joined the debate team my junior year and am so grateful of my decision to join. I love joining clubs and some of my favorites that I have been in and are in are, the Random Acts of Kindness Club, Get Outside Club, and the Iron County Teens Against Drugs Club. These things go along with and support my love for people and my school.
