· Volunteered in assisting international students through international student and scholars’ services at the University of South Carolina.

• Accurately entered herbarium specimen data into online database (SERNEC)
• Followed protocols to image herbarium specimens
• Processed rare species data that was integrated into SCDNR NHT Botany and Plant Conservation Group database
• Collected plant specimens in the field and digitized associated field data
• Extracted DNA from live and dried plant specimens
• Participated in the development of DNA extraction procedure

Making field collection of plants, prepare exsiccate for preservation as vouchers in the herbarium, database entry of voucher specimen and collection information, collect and store plant sample for DNA isolation, purify DNA, PCR amplify select barcodes, submission of DNA sample for sequencing, construction of DNA phylogeny using software.

• The vice president of the Omani Student Association at the University of South Carolina for 1 year.
  Participated in aworkshop at the Ministry of Information in Oman.
• A member of the global Voices at the University of South Carolina.
