• National African American Recognition Program - I was awarded this recognition as a part of the College Board’s National recognition programs that award academic honors to underrepresented students.
• Principal’s List/Honor Roll - I have been recognized on the Honor Roll or Principal’s List every semester throughout all four years of high school.
• National Honors Society - I was inducted as a member of the National Honor's Society during my junior year and senior year of high school.

Black Student Union:

• As a member of the Black Student Union, I came to a better understanding of the importance of diversity and comradery within the Black community which allowed me opportunities to give back to my community through volunteer work such as working as an attendant at the Black History Month Brain Bowl for our local elementary schools and helping backstage during our high school’s annual Black History Month Showcase.

Suncoast Credit Union Student Run Branch:

• As a branch manager at the Suncoast Credit Union Student Run Branch I was able to aid branch representatives in managing deposits, keeping records, and providing students at my school with resources to open their first bank account.

Grad Nation’s Eagles 4 Change:

• As a proud member of Eagle’s 4 Change, I was able to work as a mentor to a 9th-grade student at my school and was able to help them academically through tutoring and provide them with a sense of belonging in a brand-new environment. As a part of this program, I also had the privilege of sitting on the student-advisory board that advised our principal and other administrators at our school on ways to better improve the student experience.

AVID: 

• This program has given me the platform to learn more about college and career opportunities. As a first-generation college student, I wasn’t always the most well-versed on subjects that related to post-secondary education. However, AVID allowed me to learn more about these subjects in better detail so that I was better prepared to enter the college admissions process.
