As a police officer for the City of Hamilton, I have worked in the role of patrol officer for the last 6 years. From June 2020 to September 2024 I worked on 2nd Shift patrol answering calls for service and proactively taking enforcement action within the district I was assigned. In September 2024, I took the position of Downtown Walking Beat Officer. This new role has consisted of walking throughout the downtown area of Hamilton and checking on the businesses that encompass that area. As store manager, I oversaw all of the duties involving ordering and receiving of products on a daily basis. I created work schedules based off of the availability of my employees, as well as conducting the interviewing and training of new employees. I was always striving to demonstrate excellent customer service on a daily basis with my product knowledge and suggestive selling. I conducted inventory assessments multiple times a year in order to maintain appropriate stock levels. In addition to scheduling samplings with vendors, I enjoyed studying the trends within liquor, beer and wine in order to bring in new products.
As a statistician, I attended athletic events to gather and relay plays and performances in real time in order to conduct live statistics through inputting into specific computer systems, such as StatCrew. Through the inputting of the information into the computer systems, this gave the players, coaches, fans and scouts a way to judge both team and individual performance throughout competition.
As Assistant Sports Information Director at Trine University, I attended each collegiate athletic event where I recorded statistics, operated scoreboard function and audio, captured action shot photography of the players while in competition, updated the athletic webpage, constructed post-game articles and contributed to live streaming functions at some of the athletic events.
For a short period of time in the fall of 2014, I functioned as Trine's sports information director during a transition when the school's previous SID resigned to take a position at a nearby school. I also played an invaluable role when the university hired a new sports information director, assisting in that transition. During this time as interim sports information director, I wrote game recaps, fulfilled official scoring duties, took sports action photography, posted updates on social media and managed the schedules of student workers assigned to Trine athletic events.
