As Tuition Assistance Advisor I provided new student information, general academic advisement, student support and access to academic success resources to active duty military personnel, dependents, and civilians seeking education opportunities with the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I built strong relationships with students to support their academic endeavors. I processed military tuition assistance requests as well as VA benefits. I was also responsible for operating and maintaining the National Testing Center on Eielson Air Force Base.

As the Dual Credit Coordinator my responsibilities included supporting qualified students in navigating every aspect of the process of taking college classes while still in high school. This included application, academic advisement, enrollment, academic support and progress monitoring as well as transferring credits upon graduation. Each semester I would plan, host and coordinate a new student orientation to ensure that students were informed and supported in their college pursuits. I maintained close contact with high school counselors to ensure that students’ goals were being met at both the high school and college levels. I built a strong rapport with students, parents, counselors, faculty and staff to ensure that our high school students were supported and successful in their academic goals.

As Senior Program Coordinator I would assist Military students, their families and civilian contractors in the application and enrollment process. I assisted in coordinating and hosting special events such as financial aid seminars, attending base advertising opportunities such as the new arrival info fair, and other military installation and education events. I would create and distribute advertisements for upcoming classes and events to ensure programs were well attended.
