Volunteer

I've always had a special place for volunteering. I am type one diabetic, so i have volunteered for JDRF for 25 years. Being so involved in JDRF my father was also very involved and became President. Myself and one other kid was picked to be able to attend Children's Congress to represent Kentucky.

Before covid i would help newly diabetic children adjust to the new life of this mean disease that affects one everyday. It was such a special experience to be able to help children who are scared out of their minds. It was so special because when i was diagnosed all i had was doctors and nurses. The thought of having someone else besides a professional to be by my side would have put so much ease and comfort.

Now having kids our school and church community mean so much to my family. I volunteer for fish fry's, galas, picnics, coaching, and help out in the athletic department. Whatever i can do to help, I am most likely there.
