Hana Saldate

My passion for music started developing around my junior year of high school, and my life completely changed from this point. I went from being a studious bookworm into an individual completely infatuated with music. I began immersing myself in as many music opportunities provided by my school because I wanted to expand upon my musical abilities and surround myself with experienced musicians. Currently, I am studying Music Business at New York University and plan to further my musical endeavors through my studies.

• Ranked 13th for Female Recurve Junior archers in the Nation.
• 1st Place VA indoor States (archery)
• 2nd Place VA outdoor States (archery)
• Negotiated with school administrators to maintain funding and support for the arts in Meridian High School.
• Organized and played in a band performance to raise money for children in Ukraine: played the Ukrainian national anthem at the local farmers market and raised $2500.
• Singing for the Meridian High School Jazz Band. Choosing songs and performing at high school concerts, talent shows, local restaurants, senior homes, parties for local businesses, and a country club to promote music in the community.
• Starting, organizing, recruiting, managing, and performing for a new talent show at Meridian High School with an opening musical number, judge panel, host, and several talented students.
• Earning lead roles in Musical Theater
• Worked for the house for multiple school productions and started forming a group of Tri-M members to help usher and set up concerts for the middle school and high school.
• Elected as the Student Representative to the school board representing grades K-12 in the school district.
• Collected music-related toy donations at Meridian High School to inspire children to learn music and performance.
• Organized a group of band students to play holiday music before school; the musicians would play the holiday tunes while the student body entered the building to lift the holiday spirit.
