Practice Manager

9 Years
Woodminster Veterinary Hospital | 07.2013 - 07.2022
  • While I started as a customer service representative in July of 2013, I feel this gave me a great respect and appreciation for how important each role in the veterinary office plays.
  • As a CSR I set regular and surgical appointments, answered multiple phone lines as well as checking in patients which entailed taking weight and temperature and gathering summaries of why the pet was being seen.
  • I quickly moved up to being a veterinary assistant/non-registered technician while then coordinating the responsibilities of the front office.
  • I learned to draw blood, give inoculations, place IV catheters, administer subcutaneous injections and fluids, assist in radiology, assist in intubating for procedures and assist in dental procedures amongst a myriad of other things.
  • When I became practice manager my responsibilities changed although I still assisted in all the above responsibilities as sometimes, they were simply necessary to keep the hospital running as smoothly as possible.
  • As practice manager at a low-cost clinic, I have many responsibilities that make me a very well-rounded candidate and gives me a specific skill set that has helped me to hone my critical thinking and leadership skills.
  • I work with inventory; I help to hire and train new employees and act as HR to help settle issues amongst and between employees including but not limited to the Veterinarians on staff and the practice owner, also helping to settle issues amongst clients and the clinic.
  • I often give lab results including blood, urine and cytology and help to coordinate clients with specialist such as dental and oncology.
  • Since Woodminster Veterinary is a small hospital, I do whatever is needed to assure that things run smoothly while maintaining my position as an approachable and motivated leader.

  • As a gymnastics coach I helped small children gain confidence in themselves by teaching them in a safe and controlled environment what they were capable of doing.
  • I also taught the 'Mommy and me' classes, which helped new moms participate in unique classes with their small children and helped to teach them how to exercise together.
  • I am proud to say that at my time at Monterey Peninsula Gymnastics I worked under Hiroshi Fujimoto who was a pillar to gymnastics in Northern California.
