- Supported animal welfare and caring for animals. Included feeding, hydrating, and cleaning the cages to ensure the animals had a safe, comfortable, and sanitary environment. For special cases, administered medication and/or special food. Played with the animals and showed patience towards the ones having difficulty adjusting to the shelter as well as people and the other animals.
- With new volunteers, I helped guide them when they needed help figuring out the tasks that needed to be done and how those tasks should be done correctly. Though I didn't train anyone to be volunteers.
- Worked together as a team making sure everyone had a responsibility to make the shelter nice and well-kept, offered to help other volunteers if needed for more tedious tasks like deep cleaning once in a while.
- On a couple of occasions I notified the animal care workers if an animal had an injury or was ill.
