I started working at the age of 15, but when I was 17 I applied to United Supermarkets. I have learned many valuable skills in my time serving for the United Family. I started out as a checker to learn the environment, and I was able to learn my customer base and what satisfied them. One of the major skills I acquired is salesmanship. I was able to win the very first sale competition I had ever entered which was selling cakes squares. This taught me how to persuade and also learn rejection. I later had the privilege to set up our Super Bowl dessert table. This taught me how to make a display that was organized while also being appealing to our customers.
I have been with the company for almost two years and there are many things that I enjoy about the company. However, customer to worker relationships is my favorite part of my job. I like to make sure each and every customer is satisfied whether it is helping them learn more about a product or handling a transaction.
