Coordinate, supervise, and deliver counseling services to 300+ student-athlete body. Develop and update all policies and procedures for the Athletic Counseling Program. Serve as the liaison between the Athletic Department and the University Counseling Center, Student Development Sector, and the University Student Success Department. Built relationships with the Lee sports medicine staff, coaching staff, and student-athletes.
Meet individually with student-athletes who are experiencing personal and mental health issues that are interfering with their ability to be successful personally, academically, or athletically. The problems may include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, relationship problems, anger management, grief and bereavement, and developmental issues. Referrals are made to other medical and psychological providers as needed. Help Student-Athletes implement mental training strategies that will allow them to perform at their optimal level. Consult with coaches, within ethical and legal frameworks, about how to work best with individual team members and the entire team. Provide team-building activities and discussions that help teams become more cohesive and perform better. Lead and manage student-athlete crisis interventions. Directed strategic initiatives to enhance athletic program visibility and community engagement.
