Scored Excellent in the 2026 Piano SCMEA Competition
On April 23rd, 2026, a selection of high school piano students from High Point Academy participated in the 2026 SCMEA Piano Competition, and I was one of them. I performed "Sentimental Waltz" by Franz Schubert, practiced day and night, and scored an Excellent, one point away from a Superior. I learned from that experience, as it was my first time, that whatever score I make does not define my talent or abilities. It just pushed me to work even harder than before, and I believe that correlates to one's work life. You are not defined by your bad days or whatever score someone gives you. It's just means you're one more step closer to success.
