Hanyu Zeng

I am a biology undergraduate student with one year of academic research experience in microbiology at Northeastern University. I have completed one internship focused on an individual project that enhanced my understanding of liver cells and liver injury. Additionally, I led 3 academic projects with in-depth knowledge of bacteria and stimulant influence on nematode health and signaling pathway restriction effect on endemic diseases like HPV. I am a highly energetic student with exceptional skills in problem-solving, time management, and data analysis, with strong focus on teamwork, adaptability, and communication skills. I am also actively pursuing further knowledge and accumulating expertise to broaden my professional capabilities.

Curcumin Suppressing HPV Research

• Collected data information from 5+ published articles about how Curcumin works by restoring p53, RB, and PTPN13 proteins and inhibiting benzo[a]pyrene-induced upregulation of HPV E7.
• Created original experimental graph of methods and concluded 4 different types of figures to use in presentation.
• Presented physical poster in front of 40+ people including all Biology department faculty and students.

Isolation DNA and SDS-PAGE separation Project

• Isolated DNA from strawberries utilizing two distinct purification techniques including RNase treatment and centrifugation.
• Evaluated the molecular weights of Bovine Serum Albumin, Alkaline Phosphatase, Chymotrypsin, and Lactate Dehydrogenase by employing SDS-PAGE.
• Utilized spectrophotometer to measure protein concentration and assessed the level of contamination in DNA samples.

• Conducted one-on-one tutoring sessions addressing specific academic challenges, enhancing student comprehension in the College of Science
• Offered specialized tutoring in four core courses, including Accounting, Biology and Physics, tailoring methods to various student learning styles and requirements
