Duties as Dump Truck driver:
- Performed daily pre/post-trip inspections of the dump truck and trailer in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations.
- Checked brakes, oil, tires, lights and other systems on a regular basis to ensure safe operation of the vehicle.
- Added fluids, and kept interior and exterior spotless as part of vehicle upkeep.
- Maintained safe driving habits to protect property and general public on roadways.
- Recorded cargo information such as weight, size, type, for accurate billing purposes.
- Unloaded materials at job sites according to instructions provided by supervisors.
- Loaded dump truck with materials from site stockpile, ensuring proper weight distribution and safety regulations were followed.
- Hauled and delivered gravel, dirt, fill and boulders to and from construction sites.
- Accurately placed loads in optimal locations for spreading and distribution by bulldozers and material movers.
- Worked in tandem with loaders and gravel pit operators to fill trucks for deliveries.
- Safely and efficiently transported multiple types of Heavy Equipment to and from each jobsite via Pintle hook flat bed trailer (Backhoes, Rollers, Skidsteers, Trackhoes)
- Monitored load security during transit in addition to using tie downs and tarps when needed.
Duties as Excavation Operator/Laborer:
- Approach each new job as through the eyes of the Foreman/Customer
- Identify and locate above ground as well as underground utilities such as: power lines, telephone lines, fiber optic lines, irrigation systems, as well as water lines, sewage lines, and storm drain systems.
- Organized tools, supplies, and equipment needed for specific jobs according to instructions provided by supervisor.
- Operate various pieces of heavy equipment in a safe and proficient manner. (Dump Truck & Trailer, Backhoe, Skidsteer, Front Loader, Trackhoe, Roller, Excavator)
- Identify and repair the job-specific fix. i.e. repair/replace home waterline, repair/replace home sewer line, including making the appropriate city connections.
- Used picks and shovels to dig, spread and level dirt and gravel.
- Mixed, poured, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel and other materials.
- Met deadlines for completion of assigned tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Collaborated with coworkers to perform projects quickly and meet business goals.
- Inspected finished products to verify conformity to quality standards.
- Cleaned work area after job completion ensuring all debris is properly disposed of.
- Maintain cleanliness, as well as lubrication for each piece of heavy machinery
- Troubleshot and diagnosed equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
