Becoming an Eagle Scout is the biggest accomplishment a scout can carry out. In order to achieve this high rank, you are to carry out a project that is to benefit any organization of your choosing and it is to be done all by you. Of coarse hand are necessary for the actual dirty work, but the planning, communicating, supplies, dates, workers, etc. is all done by the scout. For my project specifically I chose to help out my home town, by refurbishing the historical signs that were in need of some fixing up located in near by parks. I was in constant communication with the Department of Public Works, Councilmen, and even the Mayor to ensure the success and proper completion of my project. After becoming an Eagle one thing that I love to think about is the how I have given back to the town, the effort that I put into this journey, and the all the hard work that payed off, everyday I get to drive past my project and I'm always reminded of the amazing memories I have made along the way. In the end, all came out beautifully, with some bumps and many lessons along the road that helped shape me into the man that I am today. Thinking back on my journey of Boy Scouts, which has practically taken up my entire life, it's safe to say that I am with out a doubt more that appreciative of the program and the many lessons and life skills that my journey has taught me.
