Thesis title: A Two-Level Approach to the Study of Sectarian Conflicts: The Case of the Lebanese Shi’ites

Supervisor: Dr Reinoud Leenders

Research Methods: A combination of literature review, archival work, and interviews with people closely connected to aspects of Lebanese politics.

• Supports the production of consistent, sophisticated, high-quality analysis that addresses key commercially relevant political, regulatory, security and economic issues in the Middle East
• Ensures that content remains deeply client focused, is data-led, and sector specific where relevant
• Provides innovative ideas, scenarios and solutions to support improvements in internal processes

• Reviewing published research and review of the relevant literature
• Verifying the accuracy and validity of data and correcting errors when needed
• Developing graphs, tables, and reports to communicate experiment results to Dr Susan Martin

• Delivery of agreed package of teaching activities to a high standard
• These activities include seminars, classes, tutorials, grading, other small group work to develop student skills
• Participation in appropriate training – including mandatory courses/sessions (e.g
• Courses, induction sessions)
• Provision of timely and useful formative and summative feedback to students, holding weekly office hours or similar to provide students with opportunities for face-to-face meetings and providing feedback and guidance via e-mail where needed
• Liaison with senior colleagues regarding contributions to module development (course material, content development), planning of teaching and monitoring student progress
