- I started off as an inspector which consisted of inspecting every load of scrap that enters or leaves our yard.
- Each driver will have a ticket with a bar code on it that we then scan using our "grader phone". We then have to analyze what the load consists of and put eyes on it to make sure it goes in the right location within the yard.
- Each type of scrap has its own location and we have everything organized/categorized in depth.
- We then watch as the load is being off loaded to look for any material that is hazardous. Examples include batteries, leading to an explosion, or gasoline leading to a fire.
- So our job is a very important job out in the yard because all the pressure is on us inspectors to make sure all non conforming materials are not going through the mill.
- Also having the ability to direct traffic as it comes and goes from the yards gated area.
- Maintained cleanliness and organization of work areas.

- I started working for a local, seasonal, Road Construction company as soon as I graduated from High School.
- I started off as a flagger and only moved up to higher responsibilities from there.
- Coordinated traffic control efforts by setting up signs, cones, barricades and other devices.
- After a year of flagging I then moved up and started doing the "blow". This was an air compressor with a long hose to clean debris out of the cracks so we could properly lay the material without having debris in our work areas. It was pulled behind a truck and was a very slow pace task.
- Now, the most important part of the process is the "sealing" which is where hot, rubber like material, is being laid to fill each crack on the road.
- Now the position I was at before leaving this company was called "the squeegee" which is where I used an actual squeegee to put the final look on the material by making sure it's flat with no high spots visible while driving down the road.
- The goal for this company is to try and get a longer life out of the everyday roadways.

- I worked at a Gas Station, Car Wash, and Drive-Thru all in one.
- Started off just doing the car wash which included spraying off the car at the start and towel drying at the end.
- I also ran the cash register on both the gas station side which was only when customers would come to pay for gas then also the drive-thru carry out which included hundreds on different items.
- I wasn't able to work the drive-thru until I was 18 due to serving alcohol.
- I learned how to interact with customers while working this job.
