Responsibilities:

• Provide care to immediate postoperative patients including, but not limited to, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Mitral/Aortic Valve Repair/Replacement, Bentall Procedure, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Thoracotomy, and Pneumonectomy patients.
• Manage patients receiving Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump Therapy, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, and Therapeutic Hypothermia/Targeted Temperature Management.
• Initiate, titrate and wean critical drips based on hemodynamic values, provide ventilatory support as needed based on Arterial Blood Gas interpretation. 
• Act as a resource, provide support to fellow staff, and delegate staffing assignments when filling the charge nurse role.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively as a patient advocate with all interdisciplinary team members.
