Hardworking Certified Peer Counselor committed to being a lighthouse of hope while walking with peers through life challenges. Empathetic and resourceful, passionate about empowering people to find their inner wisdom, own solutions, individual goals and support them on that journey. Engaging and outgoing offering compassion and respect while listening and communicating effectively.
Met with people who were enrolled in SOR and SAS programs which connect them to substance abuse block grants.
This included active listening to find meaning and understand feeling in order to assess needs and create goals with peers.
Furthermore, finding ways these specific grants could assist them as well as making sure they were satisfying the terms of the grant. Such as attending appointments, participating in a recovery circle and meeting their personal goals.
Also used computer programs such as office word to take notes and create documentation of appointments as per grant requirements.
