Summary

I am currently a certified pharmacy technician with 18 years experience within a healthcare system, with strong customer service skills . I started in the pharmacy field without any medical background or experience. In 2009 I took and passed the State of Iowa certification board exam and passed it on the first attempt. I was able to pass the the test without any college classes or formal training. I was able to accomplish this with on the job training and studying on my own time.


I have the ability to accurately update and maintain patient medical records using multiple software programs, both digitally and hard copy. I am also a driven, detail orientated team player with strong organizational and communication skills, both verbally and written. I have extensive experience with precise record keeping and medical terminology. My other abilities include, but are not limited to scanning, faxing and email. Other duties include insurance verification, processing and reconciling patient insurance. This includes other claim management, including prior authorizations.


Heritage Park Pharmacy is a unique independent, outpatient, retail pharmacy located within the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center. In the pharmacy I work closely and collaborate often with outside healthcare professionals, insurance providers, and patients family members. This entails patient counseling and education, discharge information, also insurance and billing questions. Unique Ability to help patients with addressing concerns and resolving conflicts, while managing their encounters with patience and compassion. Driven candidate successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive, caring attitude. Takes direction well and works well independently or in a team setting. Assisting the pharmacist with starting and finishing any task necessary and resolving any related issues. Willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet team and individual goals. Experience with HIPPA and regulatory compliance with Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance.


Heritage Park Pharmacy is a unique, independent, outpatient and retail pharmacy located within the clinics in a hospital setting. Having a pharmacy within the hospital system requires a different skill set. Team driven and detail oriented, dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service to ensure patient satisfaction with positive outcomes. Ability to take initiative and handle multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. Consistently handles situations calmly and professionally while meeting patients needs. I feel it is always important to build trust and establish rapport with patients and other providers to ensure the best experience.
