Summary

As an accomplished lead nurse at Adventist Health Sonora, I pride myself in delivering quality and compassionate care to the patients I oversee. I take my role as a leader and mentor to the nursing staff very seriously. It gives me great joy to encourage and support nurses to be innovators in healthcare while showing empathy and compassion for the patients they care for. I have led staff development initiatives such as the importance of bedside shift report. I have excelled in clinical leadership, ensuring patient safety and promoting health. I've demonstrated acute care expertise and teamwork. I am knowledgeable about EMR charting, medication administration and interdisciplinary collaboration. Quality and efficiency driven, I lead my team by example.

I am also the Lead Orthopedic Nurse on my med/surg unit. I acquired my Orthopedic Nursing Certification two years ago and run the orthopedic team. I educate new nurses and new hires. I also keep the current staff updated on new processes of orthopedic post-op surgical care. I am a liaison between the surgeons and nurses and ensure there is clear communication of post-op care expectations.
