Work History

Police Officer/Community Relations Officer

Cullman Police Department
01.1998 - Current

I started working in the jail at the Cullman Police Department in 1998 and then as a patrol officer from 2005-2015. Now I specialize in media relations and community outreach, serving as chairman of the Cullman Law Enforcement and Community Services non-profit and participating on other non-profit boards. I act as a liaison between the Police Department and City Hall, assist with patrol and investigations, and foster relationships between the Cullman Police Department, Cullman County citizens, community organizations, and businesses. In 2015, I started working as a Financial Crimes Investigator, earning a promotion to Sergeant in 2016. In 2021, I was promoted out of investigation and became the Cullman Police Department's first Public Relations Officer. During my years as a Financial Crimes Investigator, I worked closely with Bank Officials, other local Law Enforcement Agencies, the United States Secret Service, and the Alabama State Attorney General's Office.

  • Balanced cash drawers accurately at the end of each shift, minimizing discrepancies in financial records.
  • Answered customer inquiries regarding account balances and transaction history.
  • Processed customer transactions.
  • I moved from teller to proof delivery. At that time we had to physically go to each branch, pick up the bag(s) of proof, and deliver it to the main branch to be processed by accounting.
