A collaboration research with the University of Minnesota NIH R01 Study. a 5-year National Institutes of Health (NIH) grant. This research is a community-based participatory action research group, where community members, researchers and health care providers work alongside marginalized communities.
  • During my time at this internship I assisted doctors. professors and mental health professionals in gathering research information regarding mental health disparity in the East-African community.
  • Interviewed clients in their homes regarding their traumatic experiences.
  • Obtained the goals of gathering information that is used by mental health and medical professionals to provide culturally sensitive information.
