Continuing to serve the TSA mission while adapting to the ever-changing security measures. Works in conjunction with management in developing new screening techniques while following current SOP guidelines. Provides assistance to coworkers on FMLA procedures, AIM entries, and timekeeping inquiries. Directs other TSOs to the proper specialists regarding issues that I am unfamiliar with and often helps in researching ways to accomplish various projects. Successfully completed OJT Coach class in June of 2021 and continues to mentor others in the accurate application of screening procedures. Completed several new hire training packets which consisted of keeping accurate accounts of their time in specific areas while making sure they had the required amount of time in each position to be proficient and confident.
Responsibilities include working to promote the continued application of Behavior Detection and Analysis (BDA) through constant training and mentoring activities. Maintains flexibility while the BDA program policies constantly change. Remains up to date on current directives and operating procedures. Delegated to work with newly hired BDOs as their mentor using advanced coaching techniques. Developing skills in order to engage passengers and stakeholders in a customer-friendly manner. Trained newly certified BDOs how to input BD referrals and incident reports into the PMIS, PARIS, and AIM systems. Sent daily reports via email to local management containing information on BDO staffing numbers and duty locations. Often composed manual time and attendance reports to comply with sporadic shifts times around special events and training opportunities.
Continuing to expand knowledge on Behavior Detection and Analysis through consistent training and hard work. Working to achieve excellence in all areas of the program while mentoring coworkers to help them gain further understanding of the program and how to apply the Behavior Detection and Analysis core competencies into their daily work routine. Consistently makes decisions using BDA SOPs, policies, and relevant directives.
Responsibilities allow continuous Behavior Detection and Analysis (BDA) and constant training to improve behavior screening procedures. Working with team members to execute proper referral screening routines and complete all required paperwork for each incident. Other opportunities include working with law enforcement officers to protect various transportation venues and working as a point of contact between coworkers, management, and the coordination center on occasion. Responsibilities also include building a daily schedule and managing the rotation of teams throughout the day based on passenger loads. Daily skills exercised include multi-tasking to evaluate several situations simultaneously while adjusting to a constantly changing baseline and continuously communicating with other team members or superiors. Helped to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
Continuing the execution of security screening operations as well as gaining experience with new equipment including Rapiscan X-Ray Machines and Itemizer Explosive Trace Detection. Expanding knowledge on different SOP procedures and adapting to the constantly changing environment of Transportation Security.
Duties include executing Transportation Security standard operating procedures throughout the airport environment. Certified and proficient in checkpoint screening operations including the use of X-Ray and Explosive Trace Detection machinery to locate and identify potential threats and prohibited contraband. Additional Playbook duties include random screening at airport departure gates. Worked closely with Behavior Detection Officers to determine if a threat was present at boarding gates. Playbook arbitrary screening procedures include conducting random bag checks and ETD screening of hands or liquids during the boarding process of each selected flight. Other duties include the screening of Airport and Airline employees through SIDA doors and vehicle gates. E band promotion in November 2009.

Attended Screening Passengers by Observation Techniques (SPOT) training at Seattle-Tacoma and passed all required Behavior Detection certification in October of 2011. Received Rail Safety/Right-of-Way, Worker Protection training in Tukwila, WA to receive certification to participate in future Visible Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR) operations alongside Federal Air Marshals. Attended the New Mexico Tech Initial Law Enforcement Response to Suicide Bombing Incidents classroom training at the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Center in Burien, WA in May of 2012. Completed a 3 day Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation Seminar at the South Salt Lake Police Department in November of 2015. Up to date on all current Online Learning Center training courses.
