- Led coached practices for groups of 5-10 youth climbers ranging from ages 5 to 15.
- Motivated everyone to push through fears and develop a better relationship with climbing while also improving their technique to significantly improve their ability.
- Curated a fun, welcoming, safe environment for all levels of climbing ability and emphasized safe practices to prevent any injuries while working.
- Received feedback from both the youth climbers and their parents to adjust the practices to be the best environment for each member.
- Took time to give each youth climber focused help and modified workouts if needed/wanted, instead of sending everyone off to do the same, as the skill level of all the climbers varied significantly.
- Planned, set, and tested climbs of various skill levels from easy to advanced leves, depending on what was needed. Made adjustments to ensure for fun, attainable, and intriguing movements.
- Created a friendly, welcoming environment while working at the cash register, helping customers with any of their needs and checking them out efficiently.
- Led and worked in the Pick From Store (PFS) department, managing 2-3 employees and up to 8 orders an hour. Brought orders out to clients and developed rapport with many repeat clients.
- Ensured proper hygiene, cleaning, and communicable disease prevention, which was particularly important during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Volunteered at my local climbing gym, which I had climbed at since I was 5 years old, working for a variety of events.
- For the gym's "kid's belay" every week or birthday parties, I worked with one to two other employees, to manage 5-12 kids and belay them, ensuring that everyone was safe and not intruding on other climbers. Encouraged and helped kids get up to the top of climbs, helping them push through fears or difficult sections in the climb.
- Created rapport with the children and their parents to ensure that everyone felt comfortable, safe, and was having fun.
I have successfully guided friends up a large variety of large, grade III/IV multi-pitch climbing routes ranging in terrains from sandstone routes in Colorado, Utah and Nevada, granite routes in California, Colorado, and New Hampshire, many of which were in alpine environments.
