  • Monitored and ensured compliance of radio-communication and telecommunication equipment with the current resolutions, recommendations and reports of the International Telecommunication Union’s Telecommunication Standardization sector (ITU-T), as well as the International Telecommunication Union’s Radio-communication Sector (ITU-R).
  • Coordinated with international suppliers/organizations for the introduction of new and advanced technology products and services to be used/sold in the Qatari Market.
  • Organized guidelines and procedures to regulate the importation of highly advanced wireless equipment which complies with the rules and regulations of the country.
  • Established and maintained the reference library, making available copies of all documented approval certificates and a list of technically approved equipment including reference materials for the type approved equipment.
  • Drafted a document on the regulation and use of Short Range Devices (Class License for Short Range Devices). The document sets out detailed categories of equipment which include Machine-to-Machine applications, Wireless Access Systems including Radio Local Area Networks (WAS/RLANs) applications as well as additional frequency ranges for other SRDs.

While working in CRA Qatar, I Attended the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly [(WTSA)-12] held in Dubai during the period (20-29th November, 2012). I Attended the assembly as a part of a group of representatives for CRA Qatar to witness the approval of the proposals and contributions initiated by Member States and Sector Members, the review of the existing resolutions and recommendations adopted by the ITU-T, as well as the proposed studies for the next four year study period.
