Summary

I am a psychology undergraduate student at Suffolk University, and I am interested in human behavior and community well-being. Through my experience working in customer service, I’ve developed excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills and an ability to connect with many people with empathy and patience. I want to apply my academic knowledge and interpersonal strengths in a psychology internship where I can continue learning, make a change in a meaningful way, and gain hands-on experience in the field.

Work History

Food Service Worker

High Thai
Brattleboro, Vermont
04.2023 - 09.2024
  • At High Thai, I was responsible for various tasks, including serving food and interacting with customers to take their dine-in and takeout orders. I build relationships with customers, peers, and supervisors to contribute to a more flourishing company. I served food to tables, and prepared takeout orders. I stocked items for the kitchen and takeout order supplies, and I was responsible for prepping and cutting garnishes and other dish ingredients. I trained new employees and assisted them in understanding our operations. I managed multiple tasks and worked to find better solutions for our kitchen operations. I helped with the kitchen's initial setup and closed it down at the end of the day. I assisted in washing dishes and ensuring all surfaces were thoroughly wiped down.

Barista

Mocha Joes Cafe
Brattleboro, Vermont
05.2021 - 09.2024
  • At Mocha Joe's, I made a variety of drinks and interacted with customers to take their orders. I provided customer service in a fast-paced environment and built a connection with many people over a short period. I consistently created a welcoming and inclusive space for all community members, strengthening customer connections. I managed numerous responsibilities throughout the shift, including brewing coffee, taking orders, making personalized drinks, and ensuring enough supplies for the café.

President

Feminist Collective
Brattleboro, VT
01.2022 - 08.2024
  • At my high school, I founded and led a student organization dedicated to supporting and amplifying women’s voices in our school community. I collaborated with school staff to create initiatives, including providing free feminine products in campus bathrooms and our dress code to be rewritten. I worked with a smaller team to organize fundraising efforts that went to benefiting the Women’s Freedom Center and Groundworks. I also led three peaceful protests advocating for women’s reproductive rights and represented the club’s mission through panels and school-wide events.
