My major is in Biological Engineering and my dissertation's focus is in CRISPR-Cas based engineering of probiotics through providing functional gene transcripts that encode anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative proteins, native to eukaryotic mammalian cells. This research aims to provide a probiotic therapy for Inflammatory Bowel Diseases such as Colitis, Colorectal cancer, and Crohn's disease.
