Clinical Experience for Registered Nursing Degree

  • Maternity-Modesto Memorial Hospital: In the unit of maternity, I learned how to read strips, manage pain, participated in epidural procedure, participated in C-sections surgery, provide post-partum care, collaborate with MD, respiratory therapy, interventions with emergency deliveries. Worked with EMR including Epic for documentation.
  • Medical Surgery-Doctor Modesto Hospital: At Doctors hospital I was able to pick up skill with ICU patient’s and medication administration through IV push and IVPB, reported abnormal EKG and report them to MD. Reported abnormal lab values and preform interventions needed to correct them. I was able to start IV and fluids. Provided wound care and hygiene care for sedated patients. Worked with EMR Cerner for documentation.
  • Advance Medical Surgery-Kaiser Modesto: At Kaiser, I got the opportunity to work with chest tube, and calculating drainage. I got to work with the Chaplain and family while transitioning care to hospice. I was able to continue to work with Epic and enhance my documentation skill. Preceptorship at Kaiser Modesto for 144 hours, with patient cases, medication administration, and care planning.
