Worked with a selected few to interns for the San Antonio Zoo within the mammals one department. Care included: husbandry, enrichment, diets, exceptional cleanliness of every habitat or enclosure, veterinary assistance when needed, mediated stressors, as well as, their behavioral needs at all times.
Devoted months of my undergrad degree on the Edventure team in Costa Rica with a scholarship from Texas State to rescue and rehabilitate leatherback sea turtles. On a remote island, I spent sleepless nights with physically demanding jungle routes waiting for sea turtles to lay eggs and relocate them miles down the coast into our sanctuaries. Without electricity, modern amenities and long, demanding hours, it became the beginning of a long adoration for conservation and conservation biology.
