I am a Cell and Molecular Neuroscience student and certified personal trainer with a passion for helping individuals improve their physical health and well-being. With a strong academic foundation in human anatomy, physiology, and movement science, I have applied my knowledge through several internships and professional roles. Over the past five years, I’ve developed expertise in designing tailored fitness programs, conducting biomechanical assessments, and implementing rehabilitation techniques to aid in injury prevention and recovery. My hands-on experience has deepened my commitment to pursuing a career in physical therapy, where I aim to continue supporting people in their recovery and achieving their personal health goals.
I decided to move to a high-end private gym that specializes in powerlifting and body building for a more specific dedicated clientele, focusing on customizing fitness programs, personalized attention and long-term progress. Here I was able to provide a more in-depth education on wellness, nutrition, and injury prevention, while cultivating stronger more in depth relationships with clients to ensure their needs were met, resulting in high levels of client retention and satisfaction.
While studying abroad during the beginning of my Junior year of College at Florida State University, I worked with a range of professors and fellow students at the study center in order to facilitate everyone's communication. while overseas I was able to translate things like assignments, conversations, curriculum and instructions due to being bilingual in Spanish and English helping my team to eliminate the language barrier and make communication run smoothly.
During my time working at Crunch as a Personal Trainer I designed and implemented personalized workout plans tailored to individual goals, leading to consistent progress in my clients routine. I was able to help educate clients on health and wellness and helped with fixing proper exercise form, fostering safe movement, injury prevention, and grew a love for building client relationships and helping in their health journey.
While attending J.P. Taravella high school I managed a team of lifeguards, ensuring pool safety and adherence to protocols while also responding to emergencies. On top of my other responsibilities as a supervisor I taught swim lessons to individuals of all ages, focusing on water safety, stroke development, and building confidence in the water. My daily duties also included conducting safety drills, monitoring pool conditions, and developing personalized lesson plans to meet each student's individual needs.
In the summer of 2018 I interned with El Comité De Rehabilitación, a rehabilitation center for children with autism and other disabilities. I worked with healthcare professionals such as Physical Therapists and Speech Pathologists in Medellin, Colombia to create personalized activity plans for the children in the program, which depended on the wide range of abilities and disabilities they may have had. We focused on providing an organized classroom where a positive environment allowed for the students to feel more safe and comfortable to collaborate and work together as well as increasing their individual independence.
