Engineering Projects

  • Weather Balloon CubeSat for ASEN 1400. Designed and built a CubeSat with boom-arm-camera extension with a team of peers for an introductory projects course. Conducted structural and electronics testing on CubeSat and its components.
  • High-Powered Sounding 'Mamba' Rocket. Worked with other members in the CU Sounding Rocket Laboratory to design, assemble, test, and launch a high-powered, solid motor rocket. Mixed propellant and created fuel grains for the motor. Learned about the basics of rocketry along with the testing procedures for each subsystem.
  • Boost Glide Vehicle for ASEN 2804 Aerospace Vehicle Design Lab. Designed and tested a glider prototype through aerodynamic trade studies, CAD modeling, and physical flight testing.Evaluated performance metrics such as lift-to-drag ratio, stability coefficients, and glide range to guide design iterations. Presented design review findings in a formal engineering presentation.
