At the age of 6 up until the age of 13 I danced and competed at Helmer Dance Studio. When I started High School I joined the Ellsworth High School dance team where I became captain my senior year. I also participated in 4H with the Country Partners 4H club for 9 years where I showed poultry, horses, and dogs. As well as bringing baking and art projects. I knew I wanted to go into the medical field my whole life. I considered becoming a veterinary technician during the younger years of my life, until I started high school and decided to follow the path to become a nurse practitioner. During my senior year of high school I was apart of the Chippewa Valley Technical College healthcare academy, where I took a anatomy and psychology course as well as CNA training. I have recently passed my CNA tests, and have had a baby boy. I am happily living with my boyfriend and my 3 month old son. I will be starting school this January at Inver Hills Community College where I will major in nursing.
At the Afton House Inn I worked as a food expo, and a hostess. Working as a food expo I brought food items to customers and communicated with the kitchen staff to deliver food in a timely manner. As a hostess I welcomed customers at the door, and sat customers throughout the restaurant. As I hostess I had to also work with servers to help reset and clear off tables, and ensure they had everything they needed. As a hostess and a food expo I trained many new team members for these roles, and helped them learn how to talk to customers in the service environment.
