I worked as an animal breeder in the maternity area, performing tasks such as weaning piglets, caring for pregnant sows, general feeding of the sows, cleaning the pens, treating sick animals, euthanizing animals when necessary, sending piglets to nurseries, receiving replacement sows (gilts), and cleaning the office area.

I worked as a laboratory technician at Kipling Canada on a nucleus pig farm, and my duties were in two areas: in the nursery area, where I received weaned piglets, observed and inspected the rooms to ensure optimal climate conditions for the piglets, verified that they had water and feed, vaccinated and treated sick animals according to established protocols, and maintained documentation on overall production (animal inventory, weight gain, euthanasia, mortality, etc.).

I classified pigs by breed and size.

In the finishing area, my main responsibility was to ensure the complete well-being of the animals.

I took blood samples from the finisher pigs.

I calibrated the feeders by breed to control the weight of the pigs and the feed consumption of the males destined for export, monitored the transponder ear tags, and also maintained documentation.
