After working at Social Stamina, I honed my skills in working effectively with children with autism. This experience significantly enhanced my ability to de-escalate situations involving overstimulated children while ensuring tasks were completed. My role as an adaptive skills technician further developed my organizational and record-keeping abilities. I mastered working under pressure while maintaining a fun and light-hearted atmosphere during activities.
I worked in a home base behavior consult service for children with special needs. My role as an adaptive skills technician was to implement effective treatment plans to my client. the qualifications of the job were having a compassionate and caring demeanor, having good written and communication skills, able to handle high levels of stress, able to sit or stand for extended amounts on time, and being able to stoop, bend, or kneel repetitively. I worked 4 days a week 2-3 hours a day.
