- As an Enterprise architect for the last 5 years, I was assigned to cover the HR space
- We started by product selection and evaluation of all HCM offerings
- We landed on Oracle Fusion HCM; primarily due to the depth of knowledge the vendor offered as well as a strong vendor relationship with Xerox
- We then embarked on a multi-year, multi-phase project to roll out Oracle Fusion HCM globally to all geographies where Xerox had a presence
- Phase zero was to configure the product with Global values all regions had to adopt in the new HR standard data model
- First, we deployed to regions where HR processes were primarily a manual function
- They were early adopters and considered low hanging fruit
- The next three phases were broken down primarily by geography
- EMEA, Europe and finally North America
- For each phase, specific solution architecture had to be defined to support integration with downstream systems
- Each solution varied based on data frequency and integration requirements
- Web Services, BI Publisher, HCM extracts, DB links and encrypted flat files were all considerations for the solutions.
