Through my work at the lumber yard, I developed strong organizational and hands-on construction skills while managing inventory, deliveries, and outdoor building projects. My internship at Morgan Stanley enhanced my financial analysis abilities and professional communication, providing insight into debt instruments, real estate finance, and essential Wall Street skills. As a DJ and music producer in New York City, I honed entrepreneurship, business management, and creative production skills, learning to run my own brand and engage diverse audiences across live events and streaming platforms.
At the lumber yard, I handle a wide range of responsibilities that keep operations running smoothly. I stack and organize wood, manage deliveries, and maintain lumber stock and inventory to ensure everything is accounted for and accessible. My work also involves cutting down trees and preparing lumber for distribution. In addition, I assist with constructing outdoor structures such as gardens and decks, applying practical building skills on-site. I also help coordinate and negotiate deals for wood sales at various locations, including stores and gas stations, supporting both the business’s growth and customer needs.
I am a DJ based in New York City, where I frequently perform at a variety of events, including clubs, private parties, and other special occasions. Essentially running my own business, I manage all aspects of my performances, from booking gigs to curating playlists tailored to each audience. In addition to live DJing, I produce my own music, which I distribute across multiple streaming platforms, combining creativity and entrepreneurship to build my brand and reach a wider audience.
Shadowed under Anthony Preisano, an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley specializing in alternative investments and asset management, I gained valuable insight during my week-long internship. I attended a variety of meetings that provided exposure to both high-level strategy and day-to-day operations. I engaged with younger associates and analysts, learning about their career paths and the skills necessary to succeed on Wall Street. Throughout the week, I also discussed essential industry competencies such as financial analysis, communication, and adaptability. Additionally, I explored the mechanics of debt and debt loans, as well as their connection to financial real estate practices, which gave me a deeper understanding of how these instruments function within broader investment strategies.
