Jack McLaughlin

Summary

Objective:Obtain Co-Op position in software engineering, data analysis, or computer science Available May 2023 - January 2024

I have developed a strong foundation in various aspects of software development and computer science studying at RIT.

My personal and academic projects have allowed me to hone my skills in areas such as artificial intelligence, algorithm design and implementation, software development, and research. I worked with a team to develop a working prototype of an online store for a business we created for an academic project. We used Agile methodology and completed Sprints, and leverage industry technology like Maven, Spring Boot, and AngularJS. Later, I worked with a different team to develop a program that plays the "Wikirace" game using Natural Language Processing models like spaCy and pandas to intelligently guide the application toward a solution.

Through my studies, I have gained an understanding of the theoretical underpinnings of computer science and have applied this knowledge in practice. I am skilled in low-level programming, machine learning methods, debugging and algorithm design. Additionally, my experience at RIT has equipped me with the ability to read and analyze technical material, such as research papers and documentation, often required to succeed in class.
