Work History

Research Assistant

Florida State University
05.2024 - Current
  • Developing a quadrupedal, autonomous robot alongside Dr J Clark’s CISCOR research laboratory
  • Implemented an accurate and repeatable method of measuring static and kinetic coefficients of friction using Optitrack Motion Capture cameras
  • Wrote code to validate the robot’s model using a boom. This boom allowed the robot to run around a circular track and have its angular speed measured. Used this comparison to fine tune the parameters of the models
  • Currently of implementing Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) on the USB cameras mounted on the robot using ROS2 Humble, with successes in camera calibration and disparity image generation.

Teaching Assistant

Florida State University
08.2023 - Current
  • Supported laboratory activities, tutoring, and reviewing and grading work.
  • Partnered with teacher to plan and implement lessons following school's curriculum, goals, and objectives.
  • Tutored struggling students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
  • Created review material to assist in student mastery of content.

Intern for MRO Services

GA Telesis
05.2023 - 08.2023
  • Responsible for researching new capabilities to satisfy OEM requirements for testing; designing new capabilities in Solidworks for three test stands, one fixture, and five special tooling requests; ordering CNC parts from a third-party source or providing drawings to the on-site fabricator; and purchasing commercial off the shelf parts to be used in designs
  • Communicated regularly with technicians to ensure proposed designs would be effective for their tests
  • Organized over seventy-five job aids, fixtures, and test stands digitally in Microsoft Access, allowing these items to be searched by ATA, asset number, OEM part number, and manufacturer
  • Raised over $1,000 for St Jude’s Children’s Hospital between two events that were organized and carried out with two other interns

  • MATLAB
  • ROS2
  • Arduino
  • C/C

Projects

Designed and manufactured an automated pill dispenser with user-specific output including; RFID cards and reader, two stepper motors, a servo motor, an LCD, a motion sensor, and a temperature/humidity sensor. The system was controlled via an Arduino Mega programmed at the register level. I presented my final design to an audience and defended the project
