In the past year, I have worked as a researcher for Loyola University Chicago, where I sat in on court sessions and collected data to help identify racial biases in sentencing. In addition to this, I have worked at the writing center there, where I received and edited papers from different disciplines. During my time at the Writing Center, I developed the Prison Outreach Project, which utilizes the spare resources of the Writing Center to edit the papers of individuals incarcerated in the Stateville Prison. Prior to the past year, I have demonstrated strong leadership and communication skills throughout my time at Gregory Seahurst Pool, where I helped to manage a swim team of over one hundred kids. I have been invited back each year to keep my position at the pool where I have build rapport with parents and administrators alike. I am passionate about my job there any look forward to being a positive influence in the development of young swimmers each year. I supplemented this time with contract work at DoorDash. I chose this work because I could create my own hours, and put as much time and effort towards working as I wanted to. My time doing this work provided me with many different challenges and gave me the opportunity to interact with customers, allowing me to further develop my interpersonal skills.
